Letter from the President
Since the early sixties, the Birt family has proudly built their business providing Island residents with products and services to make their lives more enjoyable.
Under the direction of Roger Birt, we started with a few duplex houses in Sherwood PEI. Over the next 50 years the company, now known as R. Birt and Associates, expanded to include several retail operations, a growing number of residential real estate units and commercial building leasing.
At its operational peak R. Birt & Associates employed over 300 people on Prince Edward Island. Today, the company owns and operates a large residential and commercial real estate portfolio, a furniture store, Birt’s Furniture, Eagles Glenn of Cavendish, a popular golf course development, Charlottetown Business Park, providing high value commercial properties, three residential sub-division developments, and various other business interests.
We have built our business in the community on a few simple principles, the main one being to treat people as we like to be treated ourselves. We have been fortunate to meet and work with many people over the years and we owe our gratitude to all of our former and current employees who have helped and are helping to build our business.
